Denise Henley is an award-winning artist residing in the USA. She was born in Guyana, once a British colony and the only English-speaking country in South America. During her adolescence, she migrated to the United States to pursue a degree in Visual Arts.

Her first love has been the figure, and that has remained steadfast throughout her artistic career, even though she does not shy away from other subjects. Her work is primarily representational; however, she is continually exploring various styles and mediums hoping for a shot at that elusive masterpiece. Denise is not a fan of art competitions—she believes that every artist has a unique voice, therefore to compete would be futile. Every painting for her is a new experience, a daring opportunity packed with enthusiasm and passion, and an attempt to capture and convey the beauty and simplicity of life as she sees it.

Art is her air; she breathes it and lives it daily.
